"About 10 years ago my wife was shuffling through her recipes. I asked her if I could take them, scan them and upload them to a system we had just started selling called FileBound. To be honest, many times it took her longer to find a paper recipe than it did to make the dish itself. Since that time, she's added quite a few more, mostly by taking a picture and uploading them directly from her phone. So, I thought, since most of us are working from home right now due to COVID- 19, it might be helpful to give everyone access to the recipe file so they can answer the age old question, "what do you want to do for dinner tonight". It's also great for trips to the store so you know what ingredients to buy or how to use items you have on hand. Bookmark the link on your phone, tablet or home computer. You may be asking yourself, how do I search for a recipe? We've come up with a simple step-by-step guide to show you how to navigate FileBound. Anyone with an internet connection and the link will have full access to any one of the hundreds of recipes. You may search by “Recipe Name”, “Recipe Type” or “Full Text” search. Many of these recipes were imported as a picture, converted to a PDF, and then OCRed which is a process that converts images containing words in to text that can be read and searched.  Don't forget to save this link to your mobile device, tablet or computer for a complete "on -the-go" access.

How to use FileBound

1. Click Search to do an “open” search. This will show you all the recipes. You may scroll through a page at a time.

3. Once the recipe is opened, you may view it, download it for viewing later, or close it as shown below.

4. Once you have closed the recipe you were viewing, you may view other recipes from the list of recipes searched previously or you may edit your search via the “Edit Search” link or the back arrow icon.

5. You may use the percent sign, %, as a wildcard value to search for key words. For example, to find all recipes that have the word “chicken” in the “Recipe Name”, key %chicken in the “Recipe Name” field and click on Search.  

6. You may also select one or more categories via the “Recipe Type” drop-down list to narrow your search or to see all recipes of a specific type. (Ex: Beverages, Breads, Deserts, Main Dishes, Sides and Salads, Snacks and Appetizers, Soups, Table Place Setting)

7. You may also search any word in a recipe via the “Full Text” field. For example, if you wanted to search for a recipe that has the word “tomato” in it, key in “tomato” in the “Full Text” field as shown below.

8. Finally, you may search any combination of these fields. For example, if you wanted to search for a recipe that contains the word “Chicken” in the name, that is a main dish that has tomatoes, key in the search as shown below.
